What is included with the annual enhancement?

The annual enhancement keeps your licenses actively supported by Microsoft.  The fee is 21% of your current license value.  Although this annual fee is optional, it is highly recommended to remain current with your licensing.

The following is some information on what staying current provides as well as some penalties Microsoft would apply in the event you lapse. 

• It allows you to purchase additional functionality and user sessions for your system. This is important for the long-term use of your Dynamics NAV system.

• NAV support with Microsoft in the event it is ever required.

• It entitles you to the right to install all service packs (object updates) and to upgrade to newer versions of Dynamics NAV.  If you do not maintain an Enhancement Agreement, you need to pay the penalties to come current or re-purchase your Dynamics NAV components to upgrade.

Note – the Enhancement Agreement only covers the Software Portion of any NAV Upgrade. Services to convert your system, install and implement the new version are separate and vary greatly depending on your database, customizations, and goals.

• It entitles access to Microsoft Customer Source, which is an Extranet for users of any of the Dynamics Platforms.  The site provides information about the Dynamics NAV roadmap, message boards, base NAV documentation for some of the new versions and web training classes for base NAV 5.0 and higher. 

• Microsoft Re-enrollment penalties to note:  In the event you need to purchase additional functionality, users, upgrade, or hotfixes after your enhancement plan has lapsed, Microsoft will require payment of the lapsed enhancement at the current list price of your license calculated at the current rate plus a penalty of 3%.
